Although he died almost 40 years before the Kodak camera was invented it may be an interesting attempt to put a man like Edgar Allan Poe behind a lens. He would have used a Daguerreotype which was widely used in the 1840s.

As a photographer he would perhaps go into two directions; As a social documentary and as a landscape photographer. Let’s start with the social documentary approach as it is more obvious considering his achievements and life directions.

Constable‘s world was a world of the industrial revolution that changed every aspect of life and he was deeply concerned about what the future will bring to the country landscape. We can feel the nostalgia in his untouched English countryside paintings, mainly from Suffolk and Salisbury.

How would Nietzsche approach a scene? Would he predominately be a color or a black and white photography person? Would he extract the values from details within a scene or would he the entire frame be viewed as a whole? Too many questions for subjective fictional answers, nevertheless as a part of a series it may be a fun experiment.
