A series on various historic and prominent figures and how would they see the world if they were photographers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would he capture an urban scene? Perhaps his photographic work will have some resemblance of Martin Parr’s<\/a> satirical and anthropological approach, but may differ in terms of the complexity of the scenes. What would Woody Allen<\/a>‘s monologue style of presentation, that he is known for, be like when converted to photographic frames ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

If we would presume, for the sake of this fun experiment, that he would maintain a fictional character as in his screen plays and movies, as a fretful, intellectual and insecure in bringing decisions, then what urban photography would result out of a character that has so much to say and that has the need to constantly explain the world and the surroundings in the most unexpected ways?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would he first approach a person and discuss their coat, tie or hat or would he capture images ahead of a conversation?
I think that a conversation would take place not only a form of an introduction but also an explanation of what drew him to this specific subject in the first place. The mechanical and compositional aspect of taking a photograph would perhaps be done in a few seconds as he would like to be forgotten as soon as possible, forgotten that he was ever in that specific spot and that he ever took the photograph. He would most probably use a small digital camera so as to be inconspicuous as possible. ( No, I don’t think that he would wear a disguise, although it would be very much fun seeing him wearing a disguise of some sort ).
Regarding color, I think he has the ability to see dissect and analyze scenes in both back and white and color equally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would he ( as a character in his screen plays) as in this image example approach a person to take their photograph and be chased away by the dog creating an awkward scene? It might seem most likely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, Woody Allen being an inquisitive character, he would be very much interested in the people he encounters in the streets, we would surly ask questions as who are they?, where are they going? why are they carrying whatever they are carrying and so forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He would most probably decide to take photographs of characters that are not only visually interesting to him but also if he thinks that they are emotionally distressed by a specific event in that moment. for example, not being able to catch a cab, or a nervous discussion over a cell phone, unfortunately approaching people who are distressed may not end up very well for our hero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always it is a fun experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
